Interested in learning more about how your yard waste and food waste are transformed into a valuable soil amendment that has a variety of benefits?
Organic waste, like food scraps and yard debris, are managed to produce a nutrient and microbiologically rich soil-like humus. When compost is added to existing soil, the resulting mix is more productive and able to retain water to the benefit of plant growth and downstream water quality.
The Landscape for the Lakes Campaign aims to build awareness about the value and application of compost to improve soil health and function and ultimately to improve downstream water quality.
